A Coherent Research Community
Collaboration between palliative care researchers on the island of Ireland remains in its infancy. There is huge scope to maximise existing resources, leverage expertise and capability, and build critical mass in order to produce excellent, internationally-competitive research.
Two initiatives will support this aim:
- Implementation of a Structured Research Network
- Provision of training and capacity building for researchers
Work Package 5 offers:
- A strategic approach to palliative care research across the island of Ireland
- Reduced system fragmentation and a growing body of cohesive research outputs
- Truly interdisciplinary research
- International recognition for Irish palliative care research
- Research supported by diverse funding streams
