Research Capacity Building
A key aim of the Palliative Care Research Network (PCRN) is to enhance the research capacity of the palliative care community by delivering activities which are geared towards developing and enhancing multi-disciplinary research capability and output in palliative care. The Network adopts a multi-tiered approach to research capacity building through raising awareness of research, providing more extensive support to those who want to progress elements of palliative care research, and seeking to provide tailored support and leadership opportunities for more advanced researchers. Therefore our activities target a wide range of researchers and non-researchers, including PhD/ post-doctoral researchers and clinicians through the provision of significant capacity building and learning opportunities such as Research Travel Bursaries to attend conferences or methodological schools, funded Clinical Research Fellowships and the PCRN Early Career Forum.
The PCRN is committed to working with AIIHPC to identify and respond to opportunities for funding such events. Individuals who may be interested in mentoring will also be able to access mentoring resources as well as developing their own mentoring skills via the PCRN.
