Palliative Care Stories

All Ireland Institute of Hospice and Palliative Care (AIIHPC) in collaborates with its member organisations to produce short video clips which highlight a wide range of palliative care experiences. The films feature patients, carers and professionals talking about their experiences.

These video stories are imperative to raising awareness of palliative care, showing the lived experience of those who have received palliative care and the positive impact it has had on them, their families and those close to them.

They show us how the many benefits of palliative care can improve the quality of life of those who receive it, their families and carers. They contribute to a greater understanding (among both the public and health and social care professionals) of what contributes to good quality care, wherever the person is being cared for – home, nursing home, hospice or hospital.

In addition, the videos are an excellent educational resource for anyone undertaking studies in health care and health and social care professionals, particularly those who may be considering working in the area of palliative care.
