Voices4Care is a volunteer group that was established in 2013 to inform and influence the work of All Ireland Institute of Hospice and Palliative Care (AIIHPC) and the wider palliative care sector across the island of Ireland to improve the palliative care experience of people with palliative care needs, their families and friends.

How does Voices4Care inform and influence?

  • Through meaningful involvement in research projects and grant applications

  • Raising awareness about palliative care by participating and supporting our annual Palliative Care Week in September

  • Involvement in Regional Palliative Care Programmes in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland including consultations

  • Ensuring research information on our Palliative Hub Professional is accessible to all

  • Being part of health-related steering groups that inform policy and practice

  • Shaping the development of the Palliative Hub, AIIHPC’s online gateway to information and resources about palliative care

Hear from Monica Burns (a Voices4Care member since 2016) about why she joined and what the experience has meant to her.

How to engage with Voices4Care members?

The unique views and experience of service users, carers, former carers and interested citizens provide interesting and necessary perspective into research, education, practice, policy and engagement within palliative care.

If you would like to include the voices of Voices4Care members within your work, please get in touch with Paula Pinto – ppinto@aiihpc.org.
